AirPair Link
Short version: AirPair Link does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app communicates only with the Bluetooth device you choose to connect. No accounts, no tracking, no data leaves your phone.
This Privacy Policy describes how AirPair Link ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By using AirPair Link, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
AirPair Link is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not collect:
AirPair Link uses your device's Bluetooth (BLE) capability to discover and communicate with compatible IoT devices nearby. This communication happens entirely on-device and over your local network. No Bluetooth data is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Access to Bluetooth is requested at runtime and requires your explicit permission. You can revoke this permission at any time via iOS Settings → AirPair Link → Bluetooth.
When you scan a QR code or connect a device, the app reads the encoded parameters (such as a device session ID or configuration profile reference) solely to establish a local connection with the target device. This data is processed on-device only and is never sent to external servers.
Device configuration profiles — including UI themes, colors, and Wi-Fi credentials you enter — are stored locally on your device or retrieved from the service your organization operates. We do not have access to this data and do not store copies of it on our infrastructure.
The current version of AirPair Link does not integrate any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs. The app makes no outbound connections to third-party servers during normal operation.
Should we introduce any third-party services in a future version, this policy will be updated prior to release and users will be notified through the App Store update notes.
AirPair Link is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is no user data on our servers to protect or breach. All communication between AirPair Link and connected BLE devices occurs locally and is subject to the security of your device's operating system and the Bluetooth protocol.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App Store update notes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
